The Montaigne collection combines the timeless beauty and characteristic grain of French oak with an extensive palette of rich color variations. Louvain has a distinctive light sandy gray hue that is achieved through a unique, multi-layer reactionary process.

A History of Quality
The raw oak in the Montaigne collection comes from forests in regions throughout Europe. These areas are carefully maintained by forest managers, and trees are selected in adherence with strict standards according to their maturity, quality and suitability for use in flooring applications. After sourcing, the logs are transported to Belgium where they are cut specifically from different sections of each log to yield usable planks for both solid and engineered formats. After fabrication, every plank is hand-finished individually using a reactive oxidation process that naturally transforms the color of the wood without the use of synthetic dyes or pigments.
